Theoretical Approach
I believe therapy works best as a collaborative partnership, where your experiences and insights are central to everything we do. You are the expert on your own life, and I value your perspective deeply. My role is to listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and offer practical tools that can help you move toward the changes you want. Please feel free to share your thoughts or concerns at any time—your feedback is essential, and your preferences guide our work together.
My approach is warm, direct, and strengths-based, blending relational insight with practical strategies. For example, I draw from several evidence-based methods:
- Relational Therapy: We focus on building a safe, trusting relationship, as this connection is a key part of the healing process.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): We might look at patterns of thoughts and behaviors, working together to gently challenge ideas that are holding you back.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): This approach helps you notice and accept thoughts and feelings without judgment, while encouraging actions that are meaningful to you.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT): We may use mindfulness techniques like present-moment awareness, breathing, and meditation to support your emotional well-being.
I am also committed to trauma-informed care, which means I pay close attention to emotional and physical safety, your sense of choice, and empowerment throughout our work. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, building coping tools together before exploring deeper experiences. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences, and I strive to create a space that is safe, respectful, and curious—where you can explore complex feelings, histories, and hopes at your own pace.
We will regularly clarify your goals, track what feels helpful, and adjust our approach as your needs evolve, so therapy remains relevant, effective, and genuinely supportive. Your insights and strengths are at the heart of our work, and we will continually adapt to support your evolving goals.
I’m here to support you every step of the way. If you have questions or would like to discuss any part of this approach, please let me know—I look forward to working together.
